Our first workshop of the season and what a great night to kick it all off! Workshops are always the highlight of the season and this group of warm, fun-loving ladies was such a pleasure to welcome to the farm. They may have started out the evening as strangers but by the end of the workshop they were sharing flowers and encouragement, chatting and laughing like old friends.

With the changeable June weather hovering between rain and sun we were set up on the patio under a canopy of glass and twinkling lights and surrounded by the lush farm gardens, the perfect backdrop for creating lavish garden-style arrangements. After a quick demonstration, the ladies got to work turning buckets and buckets of our own farm-grown ranunculus, anemones, allium and other early summer blooms and foliage into lush wedding-worthy centerpieces.

Apprehension and doubt slowly turned to wonder and pride as arrangements took shape and the ladies marveled over each other’s creations, each one gorgeous in it’s own right and completely unique. The sense of camaraderie was palpable as the ladies stood around chatting and admiring each other’s arrangements as the workshop wrapped up; learning a new skill as a group creates a bond faster than anything else I have experienced and I felt so fortunate to be a part of it. Our next workshop is coming up in just a few short weeks and I can’t wait, bring on the summer flowers!
